Lancaster & District Birdwatching Society has a membership of about 200 and meets at Bare Methodist Church Hall, Bare, Morecambe. An Annual Report and a Winter Programme are sent to members in August/September. A newsletter and programme of summer activities/surveys/census work is also circulated.
Our recording area is based around Morecambe Bay in north Lancashire and south Cumbria. It includes a wide variety of habitats from the low lying farmland around Cockerham in the south, to the high fells of Bowland in the east and the Arnside/Silverdale AONB in the north. Our area also includes the Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay RSPB Reserve.
Our website www.lancasterbirdwatching.org.uk includes a very active forum with details of local sightings, as well as general information about birding in the local area.
Further information on Society activities is available from the Secretary, Mr R.A. Cadman, on the address or phone number shown.
