Accommodation Terms and Conditions

1. Please check that all the details on the confirmation form meet with your requirements. Acceptance of this letter implies your approval of the choice of establishment, its facilities and services, and the terms shown, and constitutes a contract thereon. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions please contact Lancaster Tourist Information Centre (details below) within 24 hours of making your booking.

2. The accommodation detailed on this form has been booked for you by the Tourist Information Centre ("TIC") as agent for the accommodation establishment and therefore, any contract for the booking is directly between you and the accommodation establishment. On arrival, you should check that the accommodation is as booked, including type of board and price.

3. The TIC will charge you a deposit towards the cost of the accommodation, normally 10% of the entire stay, which will be deducted from your account by the accommodation establishment on production of your confirmation form. This deposit is non-refundable. In certain circumstances a booking fee may apply; please check with the TIC Assistant for details.

4. If you wish to cancel your booking, please inform the hotel directly and be aware that a cancellation fee may be charged in accordance with the hotel's own cancellation policy. In the case of bookings made via the internet, all cancellations must be notified initially by telephone and then confirmed via email or writing to Lancaster Tourist Information Centre, 29 Castle Hill, Lancaster, LA1 1YN, [email protected], 01524 582393, and also to the establishment. A cancellation notice will be issued and sent to you as confirmation of your cancellation.

5. If you fail to take up the accommodation by the time stated, without prior arrangement with the accommodation establishment, then the booking will be automatically cancelled and the deposit will be forfeited. The accommodation establishment may also charge you a cancellation fee.

6. Whilst the TIC makes every effort to find suitable accommodation, it cannot be held responsible for, nor accept any liability for complaints or claims of any nature arising from this booking. Nor for any loss or damage which may be suffered by you or other members of your party, during, or as a result of a stay at the accommodation establishment.

7. To the best of the TIC's knowledge, all prices quoted are inclusive of VAT and Service.

8. Descriptions of the establishments in the Visitor Guide are believed to be correct at the time of printing. The TIC will not be liable for any changes that may occur in establishment ownership, rates, facilities available etc. If your booking depends on the provision of certain facilities, this must be made clear at the time of booking.

9. Some establishments welcome dogs. Please check the hotel's list of facilities for details. A person in charge of the dog must accept full responsibility for all its actions whatever they may be and however caused. The proprietor will make any charges directly.

10. If on arrival, the establishment is displaying terms that are higher than those agreed, the establishment will honour the terms quoted in this confirmation.

11. Allowances cannot be made for meals not taken, nor for temporary absence, late arrival or premature departure.
