This £3 million new building was designed by Richard MacCormac to house the foremost collection of the papers and drawings of the influential artist and writer John Ruskin (1819-1900). The library is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and is one of the most intriguing new buildings in the country.
Opened in 1998, the dramatic award-winning building houses an outstanding collection of watercolours, books, photographs and manuscripts by Ruskin. A major exhibition is held each summer between May and September.
