A Traditional, bustling Carnforth village hostelry, we make everyone feel welsome. We remain fiercely independent with no brewery or theme pub chain to tell us how to run things. This means that we can choose the very best beers and wines for our bar, the freshest ingredients for our menus and furnishings for each of our rooms. We are lucky to be right next to Tewitfield Locks on the Lancaster Canal, at the edge of a designated area of out standing natural beauty. Just a mile from junction 35 of the M6, we are perfectly placed for days out to the Lakes, the Yorkshire Dales, the seaside at Morecambe, and the historic city of Lancaster.
We are very close to two of England's finest country houses - Levens Hall with its famous gardens and Leighton Hall which stages concerts in the grounds in summer, as well as markets and magnificent displays by birds of prey. The lovely market town of Kirkby Lonsdale is just seven miles away where you can enjoy an afternoon visiting the various boutiques and teashops.

Road Directions

Leave M6 at jct 35 and head toward Kendal on the A6. About 0.5 miles from motorway jct take the roundabout onto the A6070 to Burton-in-Kendal and Tewitfield Locks.
