Jump aboard!
The North's most innovative and ambitious arts festival is entering its 3rd week, as folly's VELOCITY festival continues to attract audiences of all ages to its venues right around Morecambe Bay.
On Saturday a band from More Music surprised and delighted travellers on the trains around the Bay, and folly's installations and artworks were visited by people at Lanternhouse in Ulverston, Carnforth and Lancaster stations, Barrow's Dock Museum, Lancaster's Edge Gallery and Cornerhouse in Manchester.
The digital installations continue until November 3rd, when the festival will culminate with an all-singing, all-dancing Finale event involving Lancaster's Ludus Dance company and dancing on trains!
This Wednesday 24th sees two writers travelling the train line and crafting "Live Lines" from their thoughts about the Bay as text messages, which you can follow as they're written on your mobile phone or via the folly website at www.folly.co.uk/livelines
Next week we have the Halloween Short Film night, at Carnforth station on Wednesday 31st October at 7.30pm, featuring ghoulish treats by film and video artists from around the world.
Also, don't miss the Supervelocity show at Lanternhouse in Ulverston, where digital art from Finland, Japan and the UK comes together in a transport-themed exhibition where you can take a golden train, hop on a plane, watch birds taking off, conduct an avian orchestra or get on your bike!
Lastly, you can visit the VELOCITY website now to be a deer in The Endless Forest, or even be our friend on Bebo and see some art on the web.
