Lancaster Cemetery Tours

FREE tours of Lancaster Cemetery, lead by Roger Frankland, will be available, courtesy of Lancaster Civic Society .
The Tours are held on the THIRD SUNDAY in the Summer months April to September.
Please meet at the main cemetery gates, off Quernmore Road, Lancaster at 2pm. The Tours last just over one hour.
Sensible shoes are advisable.
On the tour you will learn about the symbolism of the Victorian Memorial Artist in stone and view the many different styles of gravestones. You will be shown the tombstones of the "movers and shakers" of Victorian Lancaster and the people who gave their names to Lancaster streets and landmarks. How to find the memorial to previous generations of your family locally will also be explained.
