Where are we? The beautiful district of Lancaster, Morecambe and the Lune Valley is nestled in the northwest corner of England, surrounded by the sweeping curve of Morecambe Bay. Known for its triple offering of "city, coast and countryside" the area does indeed offer a wide choice to those who visit.
Lancaster's relatively small side belies its vibrancy - shops, cafes and museums offer plenty to do during the day, whilst Williamson Park and the Ashton Memorial - a strange green dome which can be seen from many vantage points around the city - offer a little bit of park life in an urban context.
Morecambe offers a traditional seaside experience - but it's all the good bits with none of the tackiness! Golden sands (specially imported from the Irish Sea!) will awaken the child in all of us - who can resist building a sandcastle, hunting for shells, or teasing your sister with slimy seaweed?
The Lune Valley is known for beautiful scenery and countryside, but don't be fooled - beautiful doesn't mean boring! Undulating rivers offer canoeing and kayaking, vertigo-inducing crags challenge you to tackle them - and when you're tired of the adventure, you can discover lively rural pubs and restaurants serving locally produced food with an exciting modern twist.
Or browse the many attractions, events and places of interest the area has to offer, and plan a great day out!
