Top 10 - Places to visit with the family
1. Happy Mount Park - Head down to the new Aqua Splash Park, then afterwards chill out with a picnic while the children play on the trampolines and swing boats in the play area.
2. Cinema, Ten-Pin Bowling, Wacky Warehouse - If the rain clouds are out, take in the latest blockbuster or give ten pin bowling a try. For really young children the Wacky Warehouse is a great indoor play centre for kids.
3. Morecambe Promenade and the Stone Jetty - Features themed pavement games along its length. Flocks of Seagulls adorning railings at the entrance to one of the many children's play areas. Download TERN leaflet below.
4. Lancaster Museums - Many hold family activities in the school holidays. Download the full program below.
5. Williamson Park - A great place and includes the Butterfly House and Mini-Beast Centre to amaze and wow the kids! Walk amongst some of the world's most beautiful species, including brilliant swallowtails, and cleverly camouflaged Owl butterflies.
6. Cycling - see our Cycling for All publication for some great routes and information on hiring bikes.
7. Morecambe Beach - Play sandcastles on the beach or pop down to Salt Ayre Swimming Pool for a dip.
8. RSPB Leighton Moss Nature Reserve - Gives your children the chance to see their first bittern and red deer. There is also the twitching education centre to explore.
