1. Go to a gig - The Kooks Arctic Monkeys, Athlete, Reverend and the Makers and most recently The Fratellis have all rocked the resort within the last year. More are expected, so don't miss out.

2. Trek across a sea of sand - Enjoy a guided walk across the vast expanse of Morecambe Bay sands with the queen's official guide.

3. Gain some local flavour - Tuck in at some of Morecambe's local eateries and pick out the locally caught Morecambe Bay Shrimps from the menu.

4. Spend a day at the beach - Bring the kids, build sand castles, then treat yourselves to fish & chips at the end of the day.

5. Soak up the sunsets - Don't come for just the afternoon. Stay over to get chance to see the dramatic sunsets across the Bay and the Lakeland Fells.

6. Enjoy art deco - Stay in luxury at the Midland Hotel, share a Knickerbocker Glory at Brucciani's Cafe before heading off on foot for a fascinating 'Echo's of Art Deco' guided walk.

7. Become a twitcher - For birdlife, Morecambe Bay is the most important estuary in Britain for its total wader population and the third most important estuary in Europe.

8. Go Viking hunting - Walk or cycle along the prom to the hidden gem of Heysham Village to see the ruins of St Patrick's Chapel, one of the finest Anglo-Viking sites in the Northwest.

9. Grab a bargain - Morecambe's traditional covered market with 108 stalls and shops including 2 café's. Buy Ladies and Gents fashion wear, electrical goods, toys and games, bedding and towels, bags and suitcases, videos and DVD's, the list is endless.

10. Make a Splash - Spend the day with the kids at Happy Mount Park. The new Splash Park there is a bundle of interactive fun for young children - one of the biggest in the region.
